Things people often ask.

Are you a registered organisation?

Yes. CIPA Kenya is a registered community-based organisation in Kenya, founded in May 2020. We maintain an official organisational bank account capable of receiving local and international transfers, and we comply with Kenyan reporting and governance requirements for CBOs.

Can I volunteer if I don't live in Seme?

Absolutely. We welcome remote volunteers — particularly for communications, content creation, research, mentorship for our youth freelancers, and online digital-skills facilitation. For in-person roles, you'd need to be based in or able to travel to Seme Sub-county or Kisumu.

Do you work only with youth?

We are youth-led and youth-focused, but our work benefits the whole community. Our health outreach reaches families of all ages. Our community WiFi serves households, schools, and businesses. Our advocacy work pushes for policy change that affects everyone.

How do you decide what programmes to run?

We listen. Every programme we run started with conversations in the community — with young people, parents, head teachers, health workers, and elders. We then design pilot interventions, learn from them, and scale what works. The people most affected by a problem are the ones designing the solution.

Can my organisation co-design a programme with you?

Yes — that's our preferred way of working with new partners. Whether you're a foundation, a tech company, another NGO, or a government agency, we're open to co-designing interventions that match your priorities with our community's needs. Reach out and let's talk.

How can I send financial support?

Please contact us directly — by phone, WhatsApp, or email — and we'll share our official organisational bank account details and any other supported channels (e.g. M-Pesa) along with the receipt and acknowledgement we provide for every contribution.
